A printing press evaluation involves assessing either the machinery’s mechanical performance or the personnel's operational competency. Whether purchasing new equipment or auditing staff, evaluations focus on standardizing color (such as checking ISO/G7 compliance via ECO3 PressTune), reducing ink waste, and inspecting print quality. 

Machine Performance: Assess parameters like tone value, stencilling, registration accuracy, and overall mechanical health. For hardware certifications or acceptance tests, specialized guidelines are often followed with institutions like Fogra. 

Print Quality: Evaluate print image quality through optical and color characterizations, which can include reviewing test prints using Print-Quality parameters.
